The best time to visit Seoul is between the months of March to May and September to November.
Spring season is from March through May, and it is considered to be the most beautiful season in Seoul. The weather is lovely with an average temperature of 10-24 degrees Celsius, but it can get colder when night falls. Springtime also means that flowers will be in full bloom so don't miss the Hangang Yeouido Spring Flower Festival in April and the Lotus Lantern Festival in May.
Fall or autumn season in Seoul, between September to November, will have pleasant weather averaging between 10-22 degrees Celsius with occasional rain showers. It is also a beautiful time in the city with the change of autumnal colours. Some key events this season are the Chuseok in September and Hi Seoul Festival in October.
The months of June to August is summer season in Seoul which means hotter temperature averaging 27-29 degrees Celsius with high humidity. This season is also peak travel season for Seoul so expect long queues and higher flights and accommodation rates. However, summertime in Seoul also means some of the liveliest events such as the Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival in July and Seoul Fringe Festival in August.
The winter months of December to February can be chilly with an average temperature of -6 to -1 degrees Celsius. However, it is the perfect time to avoid the tourist crowds and a cheaper way to visit the city as flights and room rates will be at their lowest. Lunar New Year is, however, and exception as this will be the time when many families are travelling to their hometowns.
