Best Time to Visit Seoul
The beautiful city of Seoul is blessed with year-long charm, with natural and man-made attractions a-plenty throughout the 4 distinct seasons of the year. Horticulture-lovers might want to coincide their visit with the magical spring season that takes place from April to June, though, as that’s when the delicate cherry blossoms unique to North Asia make their coveted annual appearance. Autumn, happening from September to November, is also a favourite of tourists for the deliciously cool climate as well as the spectacular sight of autumn foliage covering the landscape in shades of gold, red and orange.
Tourists who aren’t fond of precipitation should avoid visiting Seoul during the rainy season that occurs at the end of summer, usually from late June to July.
Things to do in Seoul
There’s so much to do, see and eat in Seoul that it is hardly surprising that the city is an annual fixture on many an Asian traveller’s holiday schedule. Begin your trip with a full stomach and good spirits by visiting a local restaurant for some sinfully decadent Korean barbecued beef and tender fried chicken. Once you’re satisfied, the shopping districts of Myeongdong and Dongdaemun await your patronage. Follow that up with a visit to some of the city’s ancient temples and palaces, K-drama sites, then finish with an educational guided tour of the much talked-about Demilitarised Zone (DMZ).
