Tokyo

Kyoto

Osaka
– The central metropolis of the Kansai Region, Osaka is also the third largest city in Japan. Often overlooked by tourists, Osaka definitely has a lot to offer visitors to their fair city. It has the uniqueness of having the appeal of a big city at the same time exuding small-town charm. Some of the more popular tourist spots in Osaka include the should-not-be-missed Osaka Castle, the Shitennoji temple in the Tennoji Ward and the Umeda Sky Building. For some family-friendly fun, visit the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan in the Minato Ward and the Universal Studios Japan.
January is the best time to visit the country, as the weather is usually sunny and dry, and most of the tourist spots are not crowded. However, weather patterns can differ dramatically between regions as its 377,873 square kilometer land area covers a large north to south extension.
Japanese is the official language spoken in the country. However, many locals are able to understand the English language to a certain extent because English is a mandatory class in many schools in the country. A number of countries have reciprocal visa exemption arrangements with Japan where nationals of these countries can visit the country without a visa. Philippine passport holders, however, need to apply for a tourist visa (good for 90-day visit) to be able to enter the country.
Japan Airlines, the country's major carrier, offers flights from Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 to Narita International Airport in Tokyo. Philippines' leading budget carrier, Cebu Pacific, has scheduled flights from Manila to Osaka. On the other hand, Philippine Airlines offers flights to both Tokyo and Osaka from Manila.
